Your Taxpayer Profile is the master record FBR holds against your NTN — not just whether you’re registered, but your registration type, address, jurisdiction (which Regional Tax Office handles your case), linked bank accounts, and business details if you have any. Most people never look at it until something goes wrong: a refund that won’t process, a notice that references outdated information, or a bank that says your NTN details don’t match.
How to Access Your Full Profile
- Log in at iris.fbr.gov.pk using your CNIC/NTN and IRIS password
- Go to the "Registration" tab, then "105(1) Form" or the profile edit screen depending on your taxpayer type
- Review personal particulars, address, principal activity (for businesses), and linked bank accounts
- Anything wrong can typically be edited directly and resubmitted for the Commissioner’s approval where required
What to Actually Check
- Address — an outdated address can misroute notices and delay their legal response window
- Registered mobile & email — IRIS sends OTPs and notice alerts here; wrong details mean you miss deadlines silently
- Bank account(s) on file — refunds are only credited to accounts registered on your profile
- Jurisdiction/RTO — matters if you’ve moved cities; wrong jurisdiction can complicate notice responses
- Business details (if applicable) — principal activity code affects your applicable tax rates and required filings
Why This Matters More Than People Think
A large share of "my refund never came" or "I never saw the notice" complaints trace back to a stale profile — an old mobile number, a bank account that was closed years ago, or an address from a previous city. FBR isn’t responsible for chasing you down; the system assumes whatever is on file is correct until you update it.
